Arrive into Chennai. Welcome to 'Vardhman's Exclusive Tour of Tamil Nadu'. On arrival in Chennai, you will be met and transfered by our representative to your hotel.

Day 2: Chennai
This morning after breakfast visit the city.
Visit Fort St. George, San Thome Cathedral and the museum to see the Art and Bronze Gallery. (Closed on Fridays and Public holidays). High court, Marina Beach, San Thome Cathedral and Snake Park..

Day 3: Chennai - Kanchipuram-Mahabalipuram
This morning after breakfast drive to Mahabalipuram viisting Kanchipuram on the way.
Kanchipuram
Kanchipuram (70 kms from Chennai (Madras)) is the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th and 8th century & has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambareswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varada Raja swamy are of interest. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silks.
Upon arrrival at Mahabalipuram check into your hotel.
Later visit Mahabalipuram
Mahabalipuram is (75Kms from Kanchipuram) famous for the 7th Century Temples. Here on the seashore is an interesting group of ancient rock hewn temples which are the examples of Dravidian style of Architecture.

Day 4: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry
This morning after breakfast, drive to Pondicherry. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. Later proceed on a city tour of Pondicherry.

Places of interest are Sri Aurobindo Ashram Auroville - the brain child of the mother and designed by French Architect roger Anger, AuroVille was meant to be an experiment in international living where man and women could live in peace and progress harmony with each other above all creeds.

Day 5: Pondicherry -Tanjore - Trichy
This morning after breakfast, visit the 9th century Chola Temple of Brihadeeswara at Tanjore.
This temple, dating back to more than a thousand years, was built during the reign of the Chola king, Parantaka II, also known as Sundara Chola (956-973 A.D.), father of Rajaraja Chola I, who constructed the famous Brihadeeswara temple in Thanjavur. This temple was probably rebuilt of stone during the reign of Kulottunga Chola I.
After visiting Tanjore drive to Trichy. On arrival at Trichy, Check into your hotel.
Afternoon visit Srirangam and Rock Fort temple.

Day 6: Trichy - Madurai
This morning after breakfast, drive to Madurai. On arrival, check into your hotel.
Evening witness Temple ceremony at Meenakshi Temple.
Overnight : Hotel.

Day 7: Madurai
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a sightseeing city tour of Madurai.
Tirumala Nayak Palace - A gracious building in the Indo saracenic style, famous for the Stucco work on its domes & arches. There is also an extensive museum dedicated to the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi.
Aftrernoon at leisure.

Day 8: Madurai - Kodaikanal
After breakfast drive to Kodikanal. On arrival, check into your hotel. Later proceed on a city tour of Kodaikanal.

Day 9: Kodaikanal - Periyar
On day 9 of your tour drive to Periyar. On arrival, check into your hotel. Relax for a while and later proceed on a ciy tour of Periyar.
Visit Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary, Murikkudy, Pandikuzhy etc.
Afternoon boat cruise on Lake Periyar at your own.

Day 10: Periyar - Kumarakom
After breakfast drive to Kumarakom and transfer to hotel.
Visit the Bird Sanctuary. Proceed to the Vembanand Lake.

Day 11: Kumarakom - Alleppey
To experience the best of Kerala, go aboard an exciting houseboat cruise along the Kerala backwaters. Morning drive to Allepepy and check in to the houseboat on arrival. The overnight cruise takes you through Kumarakom-Alleppey backwaters allowing you to enjoy serene surroundings en route. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served on board. Enjoy the backwaters of Kerala by getting a glimpse of the village life from a close quarter. Enjoy the sunset and stay overnight on the houseboat. Day 12: Alleppey-Cochin
The houseboat comes to a halt at Alleppey today morning after breakfast. Proceed to Cochin and transfer to your hotrl on arrival. Later proced on a city tour of Cochin.
Visit Spice & Fish market, Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St.Francis Church, Bolghatty, Gunda and Willington Islands, Mattancherry Palace.

Day 13: Cochin - Chennai - Departure
In time transfer to airport to board the flight for your onward journey to back home with sweet and unforgettable memories of your 'Exclusive Tour of Tamil Nadu' escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
