Day 1: Srinagar - Pahalgam

Arrive into Srinagar
Welcome to Vardhman's "Sri Amarnath Yatra"!
You will be met at Srinagar airport/hotel and transferred to Pahalgam by
Vardhman's representative. On arrival in Pahalgam transfer to hotel for
overnight stay.
Pahalgam: Ssituated at the convergence of the Lidder Lake and the Sheshnag
Lake. At a height of 2,130 m, Pehalgaam hill station is a spectacular sight.
At one point of time, the hill station used to serve as the village of shepherds.This
beautiful hill station dates back to the medieval period. Ruled by the Mughals
at one point of time, it later came under the reign of the local Hindu kings
as a part of the Kashmir kingdom.

Day 2: Pahalgam - Chandanwari
On the day 2 of your tour leave Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds) for Chandanwari.
Chandanwari (2896 Mts.) is a small shut off valley at the junction of
Sheshnag stream and the stream for Astanmarg. On arrive check into your
tent.
Overnight: Tent
Day 3: Chandanwari - Sheshnag
Thismorning after a lesiurely breakfast drive towards Sheshnag. The trial
climbs the Pisu Ghati and then climbs gradually to the Sheshnag Lake.
Sheshnag is one of the windiest places in this valley. Stay overnight
in the tent.

Day 4: Sheshnag - Panchtarni
Today start 13 kms trek from Sheshnag to Panchtarani (3657 Mts.) will
be covered in about 5 hrs. The walk is through Mahagunas Pass (3200 Mts.)
and then a gradual walk to Panchtarani. Stay overnight in the tent.

Day 5: Panchtarni - Amarnath - Sheshnag
Start trek early in the morning from Panchtarani to Amarnath cave.
Amarnath is only 6 kms away from Panctarani. Have a dip in the ice cold
water of Amarnath stream, which flows outside the cave. Inside the cave
there is scenery of calm tranquillity of white and glistering three massive
Lingmas stand erect symbol of Lord Shiva, Parvathi and Ganesh.
Trek back towards Sheshnag. It is a descending walk till Sheshnag. The
night will be spent in the tents.

Day 6: Sheshnag -Chandanwari- Pahalgam - Srinagar
Trek down to Pahalgam via Chandanwari. On arrival in Pahalgam drive to
Srinagar. Upon arrival transfer to the House boat for an overnight stay.

Day 7: In Srinagar
Early in the morning visit Shankaracharya Temple. Return to the hotel
for breakfast and later in the afternoon visit Moghul Gardens. Relax for
the remaining part of the day.
Mughal Gardens : Visit the Mughal Gardens, the Chashme Shahi (Royal Spring),
Nishat Bagh(Pleasure Garden) and Shalimar Bagh(The Abode of Love).
Shankaracharya Temple : 5 km from Tourist Reception Center. Located on
a hill one thousand feet above the city, it is also known as Takht-i-Sulaiman.
Most authorities agree that the first edifice on this site was built by
Jaluka, the son of Emperor Ashoka, around 200 BC. The low enclosing wall
and the plinth of the existing temple is what has remained of the old
temple. The philosopher sage Shankaracharya had stayed at this site when
he had visited to Kashmir ten centuries ago to revive Sanatan Dharma.
The present structure is said to have been built by an unknown Hindu devotee
during the reign of Emperor Jehangir. The temple offers a magnificent
view of the valley and the snowy peaks of the Pir Panjal range

Day 8: Srinagar
Full day free for shopping and individual activities.

Day 9: Srinagar - Jammu
Early morning transfer to Jammu airport or Jammu Twai railway station
to board flight/train for your onward destination with sweet and unforgettable
memories of "Sri Amarnath Yatra" escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
